- 1.5 lbs Eye of round steak Sliced thinly against the grain
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce low sodium preferd
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves mined garlic
- 1 tbsp ginger minced or grated
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 4 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- cooked rice for serving
- sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ginger.
Place the sliced beef in the crock pot. Pour the sauce over the beef, ensuring it's well coated.
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the beef is tender.
About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crock pot. Stir to combine and cover again.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water to create a slurry. Stir this into the crock pot 15 minutes before serving to thicken the sauce.
Drizzle sesame oil over the dish just before serving. Stir well.
Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
