Teriyaki Salmon Recipe

Teriyaki Salmon
This easy Teriyaki Salmon features salmon fillets glazed with a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce. Cook until flaky, and serve with steamed rice and vegetables for a quick, healthy meal ready in under 30 minutes.
Equipment
- Baking pan/sheet
- Parchment paper (Optional) This is for an easier clean up
- Small sauce pan
Ingredients
For The Salmon:
- 4 Salmon fillets (about 6oz each)
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For The Teriyaki Glaze:
- 1/2 cup Soy sauce Low sodium, if preferred
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger grated or 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp Cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF (200ºC)
- In a small Sauce pan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
- Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. (If you prefer a thicker glaze combine cornstarch with water and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes)
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use nonstick spray on the pan
- Place the salmon fillets on the sheet, skin side down
- drizzle olive oil over the fillets
- season with salt and pepper
- Pour half of the teriyaki glaze over the salmon fillets and make sure they are evenly coated
- reserve the remaining glaze for serving
Bake:
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fillets flake easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145ºF (63ºC)
Broil: (optional)
- For a caramelized finish, you can switch to broil for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking
Serve:
- Drizzle the reserved teriyaki glaze over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.
- Serve with steamed rice and vegetables
